Monica Enculescu – Scientific Researcher I

Monica Enculescu PhD, Scientific Researcher I, within the Laboratory of Multifunctional Materials and Structures, National Institute of Materials Physics, Magurele, Romania. She has a MSc degree in Semiconductors Physics and PhD in Optics and Spectroscopy (2002) at the Faculty of Physics, University of Bucharest. She received a DAAD Fellowship (GSI Darmstadt, Germany) in 2002, an Excellency Prize awarded by Romanian Ministry of Education and Research in 2007, and was awarded Romanian Academy’s “Dragomir Hurmuzescu” Award for Physics in 2009. She was a Postdoc at GSI in Darmstadt, Germany, in 2003. She was/is a principal investigator and team leader of 11 research grants and projects related to the synthesis and characterization of nanostructures, and participated in many other national and international projects. Research interests involve fabrication, characterization and applications of nanostructures with interesting optical and morphological properties. She co­authored 11 national patent requests, 3 books chapters, and over 165 papers in ISI indexed journals, h­index of 18.
